Initial Fit-out Credits We inherited a dirty, grimy, dingy Cellar Bar that hadn't been cleaned or upgraded in three years - it was pretty filthy, the old furniture was falling to pieces and nothing worked properly! We got down to it and did a massive cleanup, and installed new alcove seating, bar mirrors, new bar lighting, sound system, stage extension, nice new furniture, bar equipment new and stage equipment.
Special thanks are given to the guys (of both genders) who did the initial heavy work, sorting out the internals and making the place look so good.
Doug Tiplady (yes, the sax player) did most of the heavy stuff, cleaning and sealing all the bare stone alcove walls, patching up, sanding and varnishing the floor (it was totally black, took 5 days of sanding - incredible amounts of dust everywhere!), and all of the paintwork (part-assisted by drummer Paul Mills).
Osy Angus provided expert joinery assistance, built the stage extension, made photo frames, and took care of the general fixing-up side of things (a long list!). All of this while digging sounds from his favourite band Steps Ahead.
THANKS, GUYS!
